Hose Cart
Hose Cart
This 1869 fire hose cart pictured above, has been returned from being refinished.
The city of Bucyrus gave the cart to the Society to be restored. The entire cart was
cleaned, refinished and repainted.
Silsby Manufacturing in
Seneca Falls, New York built this cart along with an 1869 Silsby Rotary Steam Fire
Engine, which also has been restored. The Steam Fire Engine was restored and returned last
year. Both of these items can be seen in the Carriage House at the Bucyrus Historical
Society.
Numerous
people were involved in some way or another and need to be thanked. Richard Zahn, Arden
Vaughan, Tim Musselman, Charles Buck, Ben Anslow Jr., Lyle Hoffmaster, Len McBride, The
Bucyrus Fire Dept. and of course Dr. James Yaussey. Thank you all for a job well done.
This is a piece of history that has been brought back for the future
